The Sacred Feminine by ~foolishheart:iconfoolishheart:

Under gentle guise of clouded night,
feel the Sacred burning bright;
wither stars while fortune fades,
dawn is breaking a bloodless day.

Encamp in ruins from ancient time,
brush against the mossy grime,
fill this castle once again,
rising to our darkest sin.

Duality battles, a fateful foe
bringing us to balanced pose;
light the match to spark the flame,
casting light on covered shame.

Drink with vigor while they drought,
we'll lap this peace with hungry mouths,
when famine ends, they'll hunt again,
Savor lost pleasure while you can.

I'm going to spell this one out because it's a bit obscure. I'm reading The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown, and it has me considering the many ways the Roman Catholic church may have demonized the female aspets of religion, having possibly tortured and killed over five million women in their time, including scholars and nature lovers and midwives.

This really has two meanings:
It touches on modern day culture, where, at least in America, women enjoy more equality than our unfortunate ancestors. It kindof explores the idea that the church is in a period of famine because now is not a time of religious persecution (again, in America at least).

The other meaning is sexual in nature, read it carefully.

If you have questions feel free to note me.

*also a note, I am not attacking the Roman Catholic Church, I am exploring a different perspective that one can take on the situation. I cannot verify that the information provided in the Da Vinci code is completely factual information in anyway.*

nice...

"Duality battles, a fateful foe
bringing us to balanced pose;
light the match to spark the flame,
casting light on covered shame."

I wonder if I would have gotten it if you hadn't spelled it out. My mind was else where when I read it the first time.
very nice though and beautifully written as always.

I really like this poem.

If you liked the Da Vinci Code you should read Angels and Demons, it is the prequel to the Da Vinci Code.

It's excellent, I just started Angels and Demons, so if I ever get a break from work and exams long enough, I am going to actually sit down and finish reading it.
